 Rainbow House Series
Look at the difference from Rainbow House 1 to all the following Rainbow Houses!  I like how the abstractness took over...What do you think?

Do you realize - I am down to painting my last 8 houses!?  Really...ONLY 8 more to go!
For my last series of houses, I will paint the houses which I have lived in.  I may need to go beyond 8 houses to achieve this (not joking:)remember we are a military family. Or I may decide to paint only my favorite houses.

This first one is...
Our House 1
Location is - North bend, WA.
This house was an A -frame cabin style home which sat on the Snoqualmie river and at the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range.

Our House 2
Location - Fort Leavenworth, KS.

We didn't live in a barn...we lived on the military base of Fort Leavenworth.  This is what I think of when I remember our time at Leavenworth (no pun intended:) There are so many barns and lines of maize color fields.

As I reflect on this day, 13 years ago,  living in Issaquah, WA - preparing to get married one week later on September, 22.
On this morning, I was driving to work, to teach a classroom of Pre- K students at a private school near my home.  I heard the news, on the radio, and again from parents, teachers, and the principle when I arrived at the school.  I know we all have a story and remember where we were when we found out.  This is important to have the memories and to not forget.

I hope you were able to have a moment of silence today to remember and reflect on 911.

Thank you for stopping by.  Check back tomorrow to see house #172!

"The more one does and sees and feels, the more one is able to do, and the more genuine may be one’s appreciation of fundamental things like home, and love, and understanding companionship." Amelia Earhart

What a wonderful quote to go with this posting.  I actually lived near Amelia Earhart's child home, where she was raised by her grandparent's during the winter months.  It is in Atchison, Kansas.  I was living in Leavenworth, Kansas, at Fort Leavenworth at the time, when I learned about her home and where she grew up. You can take a tour of the home and learn a lot of interesting facts about her childhood.

I have completed the Alberta Street series! I have one series left to make into a complete series.  It is the Stars in July painted houses.
I will work on those the next three days and then start some new house series.

I think I have found a location for my show this winter...more to come on the details!  Very exciting!
If you have not yet reserved your painted house, you still have time, although many are spoken for! Thank you to all who have reserved a house!
