Today I completed adding one series of my 183 house paintings to the wood frames. 

This is the Summer Lanterns Series.  Each painting has a hand made wood frame , which is ready to hang or display on a shelf, table, etc...

 

I was also able to finish the series: Black and White with Poppies.

The clouds in Texas continue to amaze me!  The wide open skies that bring big puffy clouds and rainbows in the midst of thunderstorms.

I completed all of my house series!  This means that each painted house up to house #164 has a complete set of nine in a series (with the exception of my first houses 1 to 18 which stand alone without a series.)

Today I started a brand new series with Rainbow House 1.

To be honest, I had no idea of what I wanted to paint today!  I went into my studio to begin house #165 and nothing came to me.  I looked at my notes and journals where I write down my ideas as they come to me, and nothing jumped out at me.  I thought for a few moments that I would need to postpone todays house until I had my plan, this seemed easy, to write a post about why I wouldn't have this house ready until a later date.  It also made me upset to think of not completing a painting.

 

I decided to step outside, as I often do (go outside) when I feel stressed or need a different point of view.  I have always loved to be outside, in nature and in an open space. When I stepped outside this is what I saw...

And this in when I decided on my next series of, Rainbow House.  Now, this wasn't actually the first time that I had this idea, for a Rainbow house.  I had it in my thoughts for a while...but had forgotten about it and had not written it down in my notes.

 

This is why I believe that rainbows are a sign or a symbol to let us now that we can stop and reflect and take the time to remember.

 What a wonderful quote to go with this posting.  I actually lived near Amelia Earhart's child home, where she was raised by her grandparent's during the winter months.  It is in Atchison, Kansas.  I was living in Leavenworth, Kansas, at Fort Leavenworth at the time, when I learned about her home and where she grew up. You can take a tour of the home and learn a lot of interesting facts about her childhood.

I have completed the Alberta Street series! I have one series left to make into a complete series.  It is the Stars in July painted houses. 

I will work on those the next three days and then start some new house series.

 

I think I have found a location for my show this winter...more to come on the details!  Very exciting!

I am working on completing the Alberta Street series.

I hope you enjoy house #158!  This series was inspired by the neighborhood I lived in, in Portland, Oregon. If you ever get a chance to visit; it is a whimsical, funky, artsy, and vibrant community with lots to explore.

I finished the rain series and must have loved the image of drops in the rain...As I am now starting the next series with more dots...Polka Dots!!!

I love this first Polka Dot house...the bright colors are fun and spring like.
I found this link about an actual painted polka dot house...check it out! http://extraordinaryintelligence.com/polka-dot-house-causes-media-buzz/ That would be a fun project,  but I think I will stick to my 4 x 4 inch houses on canvas.
