Hi!

Today marks day 135 of my art challenge, A Painted House A Day.  When I started this project back in March, I sure didn't realize the importance it would have on my   growth as an artist. In painting everyday, I have had to be sure to set aside time for creativity, each day. I have experimented with new techniques, color combinations, patterns, and so much more!
Creating a new painting each day has allowed me to make a body of work, which I can turn into a show with all 183 painted houses.
I have found, that this project has also in many ways become a painted journal, recording my journey of each place I have lived.
I am also finding the joy in painting some larger works from my small painted 4 x 4 inch house paintings.

In this art challenge, I only have 48 days left and 48 houses to paint!
As I wind down this project, I will finish making each series a complete nine painted houses.  I still have some new series I plan on creating; Map series, Green House, Barns, Lake House...and more.  Hmmm...I may have to continue this project past the 183 days...I will evaluate that at a later time.

Do you see an art house you love...that you can't live without?...Send me a message to reserve it. I will let you know if it is still available, some have found new homes.  You can also order from my Blog!  Go to my Pages and you will find the Pre Order Art House Page.  If you don't see your house, please let me know!

Each house is an original!
You can pre order your house and I will mail it to you after my art show.

The show will take place sometime in the winter of 2014. You are of course invited to attend the show and it would be so much fun if you could make it!
The location of the show will be announced at a later time.
Here are some details of the art you are purchasing:

Each painting will come ready to hang and enjoy!

(Details)
A Painted House A Day

I am working on completing the Turquoise series of my painted houses.
The following painted houses are the first four in he Turquoise Series.

Today I completed Turquoise 5 and will work on 6, 7 , 8, and 9 to finish the series.  If you know my work, you know how much I love to use the color turquoise, and all shades of blue, for that matter.

It will be fun to finish this series.
I incorporated the maps I have recently started to use in some of my paintings.  I plan on making a whole series of map paintings.
I may have to start soon, as I am really liking the added element of the maps.

Thanks for stopping by!
Check back tomorrow to see House #135, Turquoise 6.

Christopher Moore “How do you know, when you think blue — when you say blue — that you are talking about the same blue as anyone else? You cannot get a grip on blue. Blue is the sky, the sea, a god’s eye, a devil’s tail, a birth, a strangulation, a virgin’s cloak, a monkey’s ass. It’s a butterfly, a bird, a spicy joke, the saddest song, the brightest day. Blue is sly, slick, it slides into the room sideways, a slippery trickster. This is a story about the color blue, and like blue, there’s nothing true about it. Blue is beauty, not truth. ‘True blue’ is a ruse, a rhyme; it’s there, then it’s not. Blue is a deeply sneaky color.” ― Christopher Moore, Sacré Bleu: A Comedy d'Art

“The Pacific is my home ocean; I knew it first, grew up on its shore, collected marine animals along the coast. I know its moods, its color, its nature. It was very far inland that I caught the first smell of the Pacific. When one has been long at sea, the smell of land reaches far out to greet one. And the same it true when one has been long inland.” ― John Steinbeck

Turquoise 1

If you know me and my art, you know how much I love turquoise and other shades of blue...especially ocean blues, robins egg blue, and tiffany blue.
This next series is called - Turquoise.
I love this first Turquoise house. It reminds me of a day at the beach.
I hope you enjoy this next series!

"More varied than any landscape was the landscape in the sky, with islands of gold and silver, peninsulas of apricot and rose against a background of many shades of turquoise and azure." -- Cecil Beaton
