Art Class!!!

Hi!

Happy October!
Time for change and reflection. I went from creating painted houses to giving students the tools to create art! Check out my new website - Teaching Art Class!
September and October we dove into Texture! Everything from leaf and shoe rubbings to tree bark rubbings and creating Calder inspired mobiles with sticks and scratchy - soft yarn.

"Then summer fades and passes, and October comes.  Will smell smoke then, and feel an unsuspected sharpness, a thrill of nervous, swift elation, a sense of sadness and departure." -Thomas Wolfe, (1900-1938) You Can't Go Home Again.

What Does Art Offer?

"What art offers is space - a certain breathing room for the spirit." - John Updike

I found these images this morning while doing my routine FB search (which I often tell my self I am going to get rid of)...Until I find something inspiring and think that I need it.

And this inspiration is what I found today...
This five year old girl with autism paints stunning masterpieces.

"An artist cannot fail; it is a success to be one." - Charles Horton Cooley

These images may bring up the question...

Can art heal?

I believe this to be true.
I would love to hear your thoughts!
