This one was really fun to paint. I only used black and white, and I love the look of it. It has a lot of texture, that you can't see in this photo.

Winter Hush Abstract Original Painting Day One 30 Day Painting Challenge

Day #1 of my 30 Paintings in 30 Days Art Challenge

The theme for today was "Nude." My original thought was to paint an abstract with a nude color palette and nothing really resembling any particular object. I decided to challenge myself a bit, and attempt these abstract winter trees. I really like the texture and color combination. Overall, I am happy with the feel of this first painting.

using the same daily theme for our own paintings.

I am trying to get in my studio more often. It's not always easy to make the time. And even harder, is, trying to market my art and get it seen.

My work conveys texture, color, and emotions of the world as I see it. Rather than working to create an exact replication, I find more interest in the process of creating a feeling, mood, and movement.

New Painting "Spring Flurry 1" Available in a Gallery Wrap Canvas

I keep telling myself that spring is right around the corner...I believe it to be so! But, here in Texas, the weather has been somewhat strange...for this otherwise sunny, state. The skies have been gloomy and days cold, below freezing, foggy, and sleet. Reminds me a bit of my "home" in Seattle, WA. At least in the winter time. I think that my latest series "Spring Flurry" is going to beckon spring. I am ready! Are you?
