Family up the road, Lake Washington so near, and I can run on hills - pushing stroller with two daughters.

Kirkland, WA is the city I grew up in...it is where I call home.

Every new place we move for my husbands military work gets to be compared to Kirkland.  So far not one place can beat it!  Is this because of the beauty and wonderful place Kirkland is?  Or is this because this is were I grew up and it is home?

I completed all of my house series!  This means that each painted house up to house #164 has a complete set of nine in a series (with the exception of my first houses 1 to 18 which stand alone without a series.)

Today I started a brand new series with Rainbow House 1.

To be honest, I had no idea of what I wanted to paint today!  I went into my studio to begin house #165 and nothing came to me.  I looked at my notes and journals where I write down my ideas as they come to me, and nothing jumped out at me.  I thought for a few moments that I would need to postpone todays house until I had my plan, this seemed easy, to write a post about why I wouldn't have this house ready until a later date.  It also made me upset to think of not completing a painting.

 

I decided to step outside, as I often do (go outside) when I feel stressed or need a different point of view.  I have always loved to be outside, in nature and in an open space. When I stepped outside this is what I saw...

And this in when I decided on my next series of, Rainbow House.  Now, this wasn't actually the first time that I had this idea, for a Rainbow house.  I had it in my thoughts for a while...but had forgotten about it and had not written it down in my notes.

 

This is why I believe that rainbows are a sign or a symbol to let us now that we can stop and reflect and take the time to remember.

Welcome to my studio!
Just a small peak of what I am working on today...
In process is House #122 of Fireflies series.

I am also displaying all of the painted houses, grouping them in their series.

This is so much fun to pull them out of the box I have been storing them in! 

To see them displayed and look closely at what I have done so far in this project.

I have decided make sure I have nine canvases in each series...so I will be going back to revisit series in the past to add a complete nine paintings to each series.

I will post later today with pictures of each series I have so far...so please check back!!!

 

Pre Order Your Favorite Art House

Today marks day 50 of, A Painted House A Day!  This should mean that I will have painted 50 - art houses.  I just counted and all 49 are here (thank goodness) with house #50 in progress!   Some are painted on paper and most on canvas.
Pretty exciting!

I am posting some photos of the 49 art houses. These are in order with house #1 in the upper left hand corner ( Yellow House #1.) I started this project with painting Yellow House #1 on March 24th, 2014.

I can now fill up my square table with all 49 houses! I think I will need to come up with another form of display. I can't wait to see all 183 Art Houses displayed together. It does seem like a big task in front of me, to create this much art - and everyday! I feel pretty confident in getting it done and take each day as it comes.

I soon will be posting pre - order information for those of you who are interested in purchasing your favorite original Art House. I plan on keeping all 183 Art Houses until I have my final show... Wouldn't it be fun if you could attend! Maybe you can!
